Chapter 359

Departure

4 events
  1. 01 Day 1 · Sunday · 12:00 Ship Departs The Black Whale sounds its horn and leaves the port of Kakin for the New Continent, at noon on a Sunday. The blast is what opens the Succession Contest: the rules read out at the urn ceremony hold that the contest begins with it, and that a potential heir dying before it would call the whole thing off. Seq. 2
  2. 02 Day 1 · Sunday · 12:15-12:30 Woody is found dead Woody dies between 12:15 and 12:30, minutes after the Black Whale leaves port, and is found exsanguinated on the bathroom floor of room 1014. Kurapika reaches the bathroom shortly afterwards with Bill, Kurton, Sayird and two more of the detail. Seq. 3
  3. 03 Day 1 The inaugural banquet gathers the royal family The Tier 1 banquet hall receives the court for the first dinner of the crossing: Nasubi on his throne, the five highest princes — Benjamin, Camilla, Zhang Lei, Tserriednich and Tubeppa — Halkenburg, Kacho and Fugetsu, Momoze in a corner with Marayam and their mother Sevanti, and Queen Oito with the child the archive later learns is her nephew. The hall holds through chapters 359 to 362 as the princes leave at staggered intervals: Kacho uses hers to propose an alliance to Fugetsu, Halkenburg crosses to the throne to tell his father he withdraws from the contest, Tserriednich and Tubeppa strike their own alliance, and Nasubi lays down the rules the Guardian Spirit Beasts must obey. Seq. 4
  4. 04 Day 1 Four more guards are found exsanguinated Escorting Oito and the child back from the banquet, Kurapika and his detail come on four more bodyguards dead in a corridor of the royal residential sector, drained of blood exactly as Woody was. Five deaths in an afternoon is what turns an unexplained corpse into the pattern Kurapika reads as parasitic Nen. The four are never named; the next chapter establishes that each of the five was serving a queen other than Oito. Seq. 5

Chapter 363

Nen Beasts

5 events
  1. 01 Day 1 Camilla puts the drop-out rule to the king Zhang Lei opens the chapter learning in the corridor, then in room 1003, that Woble's detail has been all but wiped out, and reads the beasts as the key to it. In the banquet hall Camilla asks her father to confirm that only biological death counts as dropping out of the contest; Benjamin comes up behind her, mocks the question and tells her she is unqualified. Both leave the hall — she frustrated, he furious, with two soldiers behind him. Seq. 1
  2. 02 Day 1 Début du chapitre 363 Événement de référence pour le chapitre 363 Seq. 1
  3. 03 Day 1 Balsamilco talks Benjamin down in room 1001 Balsamilco tells Benjamin across the table that every prince carries a Nen beast, and that he cannot see his own. He counsels patience on two counts: moving alone is dangerous while the beasts are invisible to him, and Kurapika's emergency broadcast has made Nen common knowledge in every camp, which costs them the advantage they held. Seq. 2
  4. 04 Day 1 Benjamin deploys his soldiers among the princes After learning the limits of the guardian beasts, Benjamin uses his private army to monitor the other royal factions, in rotating shifts and with orders to report and to shoot in self-defence. The chapter takes the reactions room by room: Zhang Lei with six guards, Camilla with two, promising death to whoever comes in, Tserriednich with Theta and one more guard ignoring the whole thing, and Tubeppa with a single guard, asking after Kurapika. Seq. 3
  5. 05 Day 1 Vincent stabs a servant in room 1014 Oito carries the child while Kurapika and Bill wait for the spy Benjamin has certainly sent. He comes in as Vincent, stabs the servant Sandra at the entrance and calls it self-defence. Kurapika reads it for what it is — the assassination attempt the deployment was cover for — and the room turns on him in the next chapter. Seq. 4

Limits

6 events
  1. 01 Day 2 · Monday · 06:00 Kurapika wakes from a nine-hour black-out Bill tells Kurapika he was unconscious for about nine hours and that the others were told he was on a mission. Oito went down at almost the same moment, since she was holding the borrowed ability with him. Seq. 1
  2. 02 Day 2 · Monday · 06:00 The limits of Emperor Time are spelled out Continuous use of Emperor Time is capped at three hours; past that the user blacks out for three times the time spent — nine hours here — and whoever shares the ability blacks out with him. Kurapika suspects the power of the stolen ability moves the allotted time. Seq. 2
  3. 03 Day 2 · Monday · 09:00 The princes send their guards to the first Nen class Sixteen guards and servants are sent to room 1014 with orders of their own: Satobi (Luzurus) warns his side that one bodyguard is manipulating everyone, Mushaho (Salé-salé) reads the class as a chance to spy on the other details and open negotiations, Longhi and Maor (Tubeppa) fall back on letters since coded traffic can be intercepted and give themselves two weeks to win Kurapika over, Danjin and Myuhan (Tserriednich) carry a threat to kill them all if they fail to acquire Nen in two weeks, Furykov (Benjamin) is told to catalogue Kurapika's Nen, tics and abilities, Tenftory (Chôrai) is to watch everyone who approaches him and the numbers 1, 4 and 5 above all, Belerainte and Barrigen (Marayam) are to report back in detail, Yuri and Loberry (Kacho) and Ladiolus and Illardia (Fugetsu) come as non-combatant servants sent in place of the bodyguards, and Yuhirai and Shedule (Halkenburg) are to investigate the mark Kurapika spoke of and trade every finding. Seq. 3
  4. 04 Day 2 · Monday · 09:00 Kurapika lays down the rules of the Nen class Facing the assembled guards in room 1014, Kurapika draws a white line nobody is to cross, warns that he will use force without warning if he judges it necessary and that anyone breaking the rule can be excluded, and promises that in two weeks everyone will have Nen even if some learn more slowly than others. Seq. 4
  5. 05 Day 2 · Monday · 09:00 Silent Majority possesses Loberry The hidden assassin uses Loberry as the only witness to the masked doll observing Kurapika's Nen class. The user states the rule of the ability out loud: only two people can see the decorative doll — Loberry, on whom it is fixed, and the user who activated it. Seq. 5
  6. 06 Day 2 · Monday · 09:00 Kurapika asks who already knows Nen Before teaching, Kurapika asks the users among them to raise their hands. Furykov and Belerainte alone answer; Kurapika reads Furykov as an observer sent to grade his teaching, and Belerainte says he is glad to give a frank opinion. The hidden assassin counts four more who keep quiet and reckons nobody but them will notice. Seq. 6

Chapter 376

Determination

5 events
  1. 01 Day 3 – Day 4 Début du chapitre 376 Événement de référence pour le chapitre 376 Seq. 1
  2. 02 Day 3 · Tuesday · 10:05 The two camps plead before the Supreme Court A caption dates the session: third day, 10:05 in the morning. Camilla's counsel tells it as self-defence — the second prince was attacked by Musse, a militiaman of the first prince, saw a weapon trained on her, felt herself in danger and opened fire; she then went after Musse and ran into Hyurikofu, another of Benjamin's militiamen, and Vorufu, a guard of the first queen. Her side demands that Benjamin and his militia hand Musse over for attempted murder on the second prince, and charges the first prince with having ordered the killing. Benjamin's side objects: ten rounds fired at an unarmed prince is out of all proportion, and they cover Musse in no way whatsoever. Both camps then demand a search of the other's residence. Seq. 1
  3. 03 Day 3 · Tuesday · 10:05 Cleapatro confines both princes and orders every residence searched The magistrate puts Benjamin and Camilla under supervised detention in the VIP zone until Musse is caught. Their protection details stay as they are, but every time either prince leaves the zone a supervisor answering to the court goes with them, and rather than search one residence the magistrate asks the Royal Army to search them all. Benjamin's camp takes the ruling as a nuisance rather than a check: Musse's Mimizuku knows everything, detention puts Camilla out of their reach — but whatever she does and wherever she goes, they will know. Seq. 2
  4. 04 ≈ Day 3 Silent Majority kills Myuhan The assassin strikes the moment Myuhan steps into the toilets: he screams, and ten seconds later he is dry. A Nen user among the guards puts three of the dolls down and reports that one is still inside. Kurapika seals the scene — the salon door shut with nobody moving, Bill holding the bedroom door until he arrives — and reads the pattern out loud: the killer only takes people without Nen, the attack is unstoppable in a moment of inattention if you have none, and nobody is at risk while he is present. The user has evidently unlocked their own Nen; the doll has vanished where it cannot have gone, being far too big for the pipes. Seq. 3
  5. 05 ≈ Day 3 The class turns on Kurapika and calls for the army The surviving envoys read the deaths as an extermination: they are being picked off one by one and were lured in with the promise of Nen, which several of them now call a fabrication with no proof behind it. One demands the Royal Army be called and says he knows exactly whose side the magistrate will take. Kurapika's camp cannot allow it — with the court already having every residence searched, calling the army would see the queen, the prince and the detail placed in separate detention — so the class has to be talked into continuing, and the lie kept standing rests on the same guards staying in the room. Seq. 4

  4. 04 ≈ Day 4 The Cha-R show the Troupe their surveillance The three Troupe members are taken into the family's headquarters on Tier 5 — the clan emblem framed between two doors, sofas around a low table, a monitor room next door from which the Cha-R record the places that matter to them on the deck, the reception room included. The footage of the theft is played back: the man walks the hangar guard away, moves too much for his face to be readable, tries the back door in his panic, finds it locked and leaves the way he came. There are cameras at the warehouse entrance only, and apart from the family's own comings and goings the tape shows nobody but the three of them. They ask for a list of every non-mafia passenger going back to the previous day, on the reading that the thief came to scout the place first. Seq. 3
