Biography

Bonolenov boards the Black Whale with the Phantom Troupe and begins the search for Hisoka in Tier 5. On the fourth day, the Spiders gather in the central mess hall. After the group leaves, Bonolenov and Shizuku ask to team up with Chrollo, while accepting that their leader claims the right to kill Hisoka.

Shizuku believes that their abilities are poorly suited to Bungee Gum. Bonolenov clarifies that he can transform rather than simply disguise himself thanks to Battle Cantabile: Metamorphosen, but admits to lacking strategic sense. Chrollo then entrusts him with a precise plan. The trio then reaches Tier 4 through the central passage.

On Chrollo's instructions, Bonolenov takes the appearance of Hisoka and shows up in areas monitored by mafias. The plan is to push them to hide him in the upper quarters to preserve their balance, then to let the Brigade freely search the lower floors, believing Hisoka to already be isolated.

In Tier 3, Lynch hits the fake Hisoka and discovers through Body and Soul that he is an imposter. Bonolenov knocks her out with a blow to the liver so quickly that Zakuro doesn't see it, then neutralizes Zakuro, takes her appearance to verify what Lynch understood, then kills the latter. He finally transforms into Lynch in order to trick Zakuro and lead the mafia to the cinema.

On the twelfth day, still transformed into Hisoka, Bonolenov fortuitously encounters the real Hisoka in the Tier 1 casino. Remembering Chrollo's warning, he immediately adopts the appearance of Owl and continues to circulate in the casino, worried that the mafia will discover Lynch's murder and trace it back to him.

In his new form, Bonolenov reflects on Chrollo's pain after the deaths of Shalnark and Kortopi. He understands that the leader is looking for an ability and treats them necessary to improve Skill Hunter in order to permanently kill Hisoka. Bonolenov nevertheless hopes that the other Spiders will reach Hisoka before Chrollo and that this last fight will conclude their performance.

ABILITIES & POWERS

A member of the Phantom Troupe with a Class A bounty, Bonolenov is a professional assassin, agile fighter and accomplished dancer. The ritual holes in his body transform his movements into music and his music into combat power. He possesses great speed, enough strength to knock Lynch out with a single blow, and an aura so menacing that it makes Zakuro tremble. Although he calls himself a bad strategist, he quickly analyzes Body and Soul and improvises a complex chain of impersonations.

Bonolenov materializes weapons, destructive masses or transformations using Battle Cantabile. His Hatsu are linked to his Gyudondond heritage: he dances and circulates air through the holes in his body to produce the necessary melodies. The duration or power seems to depend on the song, the dance and the number of holes exposed.

He fights by dancing, avoids attacks with grace and can perform convincing transformations. Metamorphosen allows him to imitate Hisoka, Zakuro, Lynch and then Owl, while Prologue and Jupiter give him a melee weapon and a massive pursuit attack respectively.

On Chrollo's instruction Bonolenov uses Battle Cantabile: Metamorphosen to impersonate Hisoka in mafia-watched areas. Lynch identifies the imposture through Body and Soul; he drops Zakuro, takes her form to confirm what Lynch understood, kills Lynch and then wears Lynch to steer the mafia to the cinema. On the twelfth day, still in Hisoka's face, he runs into the real Hisoka in the Tier 1 casino and immediately switches to Owl — hoping privately that another Spider reaches Hisoka before Chrollo does, and that the fight is the group's last number.
