Biography
Fugetsu is introduced as the Eleventh Princess, twin of Kacho and daughter of Seiko. During departure ceremonies, she stays alongside her sister. Kacho offers him an alliance and claims to want to kill their rivals before asking Nasubi to spare him; Fugetsu shyly accepts without immediately perceiving that this hardness is a protective facade.
She responds to Kurapika's offer by sending her maids Illardia and Ladiolus to Nen's lessons. The following night, unable to sleep, she discovers on the wall a small door identical to that of a playground from their childhood. She goes through the tunnel and comes out straight into Kacho's bed.
Fugetsu experiments to understand this “magic”. The door refuses to open in the morning but reappears at night. On the fourth day, an attempt leads her alone to Tier 3, where the Hunters find her and place her under protection at the central police station. She refuses to speak without her sister.
Taken back to her room under constant surveillance, Fugetsu continues her tests and practices the glassharmonica. Yushohi understands that her Beast probably allows translocation and notes that her involuntary departure removed her from Stand by Me.
On the eighth day, Fugetsu participates with Kacho and Melody in the escape plan. Shielded from the music by headphones, the twins follow Keeney to a boat and leave the ship. Spectral hands immediately attack them, revealing that the ceremony condemns any attempt to escape.
Fugetsu opens Magical Worm and enters the tunnel. Kacho closes the door behind her and dies in the boat, but Without You takes her appearance and joins Fugetsu. Unaware of the substitution, Fugetsu returns with the copy to room 1011.
Placed in the Bureau of Justice as a protected witness, Fugetsu discovers that she can apparently use Magical Worm several times a day and open the return door on her own. She becomes euphoric and compulsive, claiming to want to protect Kacho, but quickly becomes exhausted and eventually loses consciousness.
Melody perceives a dark presence around her, many spirits and an aura as weak as in Zetsu. A puncture-like mark appears on his shoulder blade. Melody and Kacho suspect a multi-stage enemy ability, possibly Luzurus's Guardian Beast trap, but this origin remains unconfirmed.
To prepare for the elimination of Luzurus and expand the destinations accessible to Magical Worm, Fugetsu distributes Kacho's posthumous letters to the princes of Tier 1 under escort from the Ministry of Justice. Benjamin and Basho temporarily repel the spirits surrounding her, but Benjamin estimates that she will not survive ten days in this state.
Visiting room 1007 marks it as Magical Worm's future destination. The plan involves putting Luzurus to sleep with Melody's music, transporting him into the tunnel and then taking him out of the ship so that the Inheritance Curse will kill him.
After her tour, Fugetsu collapses and remains asleep in the infirmary for the remainder of the eleventh day and then the beginning of the twelfth. Kacho watches over her while Melody insists on the need to let her recover and find an exorcist quickly.
ABILITIES & POWERS
Fugetsu has virtually no political influence, but demonstrates a true analytical mind: without knowing Nen, she formulates hypotheses and organizes experiments to understand Magical Worm. Like Kacho, she can play the glassharmonica. Despite her anxious temperament, she traverses several levels of the ship alone and actively participates in the plan to save her sister.
