Biography
Kacho is introduced as the Tenth Princess, twin of Fugetsu and daughter of Seiko. She posts an anonymous ad to recruit guards and hires Melody. During the departure ceremonies, the two sisters appear together and hold hands.
At the end of the inaugural banquet, Kacho asks Fugetsu to form an alliance and promises to save her if she wins. She then adopts a temperamental attitude in front of her staff, but Melody hears in her heartbeat that this spoiled personality is an act intended to cover up her true intentions.
Kacho agrees to send Loberry and Yuri to Kurapika's Nen lessons. After the Silent Majority incident involving Loberry, an investigator monitors room 1010 for seventy-two hours. Kacho maintains her facade while her mother is questioned.
On the third day, Fugetsu secretly reaches Kacho's bed thanks to Magical Worm. Kacho immediately hides her sister and Melody understands that she must explain Nen to her. The princess then acquires a Mosquitone in order to transmit instructions to Melody in Morse code while simulating ordinary conversations.
She obtains permission from Seiko to play the glassharmonica with Fugetsu during the Sunday banquet, accompanied by Melody's flute. Under the cover of rehearsals, Kacho prepares an escape with Melody and Keeney while the music temporarily neutralizes the occupants of the upper floors.
On the eighth day, Melody captivates the audience and Keeney leads the twins to a canoe. As soon as they leave the Black Whale, spectral hands attack the boat. Kacho understands that the ceremony punishes any escape and orders Fugetsu to open Magical Worm to return on board.
Fugetsu enters the tunnel, but Kacho remains in the boat and dies. Without You immediately activates, takes on his appearance and personality then joins Fugetsu through the door. The copy is indistinguishable from the original and retains his memories, his intelligence and his determination.
At the Justice Bureau, Kacho's copy understands his likely nature as a resurrected Guardian Beast and decides to keep the truth a secret to protect Fugetsu. Along with Melody and Kaiser, she plans to use the princes' recital requests to trick or eliminate them.
When Fugetsu begins compulsively using Magical Worm and becomes weaker, Kacho discovers a mark on his shoulder blade. She suspects the Beast of Luzurus and hatches a plan to knock him out, transport him in a dinghy through the tunnel, and fake a fatal overdose.
Kacho writes, with information from Kaiser, different posthumous letters for each prince. Fugetsu distributes them in order to mark their rooms with Magical Worm and spread politically explosive information. Luzurus' cautious attitude, however, complicates their operation.
Kacho then watches over Fugetsu in the infirmary. On the morning of the twelfth day, she fears that her own existence will consume her sister's aura, but Melody reminds her that Fugetsu needs her and would likely not survive without her protection.
ABILITIES & POWERS
Kacho has little real political influence, but has remarkable talent as an actress: she maintains a capricious personality while communicating secretly, only her heartbeat allowing Melody to detect the lie. Foresighted and strategic, she knows Morse code, plays the glassharmonica and designs several complex operations with Melody and Kaiser.
Small device activated with the thumb which emits very high-pitched sounds, comparable to the buzzing of a mosquito and inaudible beyond a certain age. Kacho uses it to transmit Morse coded messages to Melody.
