Biography
Luzurus is first mentioned when Theta reports to Tserriednich that all of her guards have failed the Hunter Exam. He then appears smoking a hookah in a room filled with bottles. Basho responds to his anonymous ad and becomes his guard for the expedition.
During the ceremonies preceding departure, Luzurus is clearly less enthusiastic than his brothers and sisters. After Kurapika's announcement, his three Hunter guards explain Nen to him. He maintains his plan to target Tubeppa first, believing that Nen could allow him to dominate the succession if his rivals ignore him.
Luzurus discovers Clean Leaf with Basho, a legal substance intended for heavy smokers. He immediately considered using it to rehabilitate drug addicts and publishing the results of a clinical trial, while recognizing the obstacles posed by military drug control.
He agrees to send his men to Kurapika's lessons and chooses Satobi. His ties to the Cha-R family, one of the three major Kakin mafias on board, are then revealed. On the eighth day, he is briefly captivated by Melody's music.
On the ninth day, Luzurus and his guards hear the gunshot of Shikaku, whose body occupied by Sumidori commits suicide in front of room 1007. They come out armed and examine the scene. Luzurus rejects the idea that his mother Duazul may have organized the incident, as she does not actively support any of her children.
Melody, Kacho, and Kaiser then suspect his Guardian Beast of having trapped Fugetsu, whose compulsive use of Magical Worm is quickly depleting his aura. They devise a plan to knock out Luzurus, put him through the Fugetsu Tunnel, and kill him in a lifeboat by faking an accidental overdose.
Fugetsu and the Justice agents go to room 1007 under the pretext of delivering Kacho's posthumous letter. Luzurus offers his condolences, reads the message then entrusts it to Kaiser, believing that its contents constitute a political bomb intended to provoke investigations against the princes.
Luzurus suspects that each recipient received a different letter and refuses to be recklessly drawn against Tserriednich. Kaiser notes that the prince is more cautious and suspicious than expected, but considers the operation successful since room 1007 is now marked by Magical Worm.
Later, Luzurus watches a movie in his room with Rice and Basho. On the twelfth day, Benjamin proclaimed martial law and ordered his soldiers to search for Luzurus and Zhang Lei as a priority.
ABILITIES & POWERS
Luzurus benefits from the wealth and influence of a prince, although they remain inferior to those of his elders. Godfather of Cha-R, he also has a powerful mafia network. Beneath his relaxed manner, he appears pragmatic and insightful: he quickly considers medical applications for Clean Leaf and detects the manipulative dimension of the letter attributed to Kacho.
