Biography
Momoze first appears sewing. She is one of six princes who posted an anonymous announcement and hires Hanzo as a guard for the expedition. During the festival preceding the trip, she greets the crowd then joins the Black Whale banquet near her younger brother Marayam.
On the first day, his Guardian Spirit Beast enters room 1014 and takes control of Sayird. He kills Kurton and tries to attack the other guards before being overpowered by Kurapika, without Momoze knowing that his aura is fueling the attack.
After the ceremony, Sevanti transfers almost the entire team from Momoze to Marayam, leaving him with only six guards. Momoze reassures his staff and calmly accepts the decision, while internally judging that the fear of his mother and brother demonstrates that Marayam is not worthy to become king.
Consuming his Beast's aura causes intense fatigue. Momoze allows two guards to rest, then falls asleep around four p.m. While she sleeps, her Guardian Beast disappears due to lack of energy, leaving her completely vulnerable.
Tuffdy, one of his own guards, then enters the room and strangles him. Oito sees the murder thanks to the cockroach controlled by Little Eye, but the alert given to room 1012 comes too late. The six guards are then arrested for collusion and court-martialed.
Kurapika understands that Momoze's Beast was probably one of the ones that attacked Woble and that its use had exhausted the princess. Hanzo, consumed by guilt, identifies Tuffdy among the two guards on break then uses Hanzo Skill 4 to infiltrate his cell, obtain his confession and strangle him.
The next day, Nasubi mourns in front of Momoze's body in one of the fourteen funeral capsules arranged around a mysterious room. He claims that it becomes the foundation of the great Tree of Kakin and that it shines even more after his death.
Its disappearance visibly strengthens the Guardian Beast of Marayam. Halkenburg organizes a minute of silence in his memory and mourns his death, an event which triggers the immense collective aura of his supporters and precipitates his decision to confront Nasubi. Momoze's corpse is depicted again in chapter 413.
ABILITIES & POWERS
Due to his young rank, Momoze possessed virtually no political influence. She nevertheless appeared calm, caring and lucid: she reassured her staff after the transfer of her guards, thanked those who refused to rest and severely analyzed the fear of her mother and Marayam. She loved sewing and knitting.
