Soufflé, the Heil-Ly's hacker, is posted with Notre to observe the abandoned Room 3101 lair. Hinrigh has Biohazard turn a transmitter into an oyster, swallows it and walks into the teleport trap deliberately; Phinks tracks the signal with Feitan and the Spiders conclude the real base sits on Tier 2. The base is found by a device rather than by a lapse in her watch.

Written in the style of Neon Nostrade's poems. Lovely Ghostwriter had already vanished from Skill Hunter when the Black Whale sailed: this sheet is a reconstruction, not a record.

      The Black Whale sounds its horn and leaves the port of Kakin for the New Continent, at noon on a Sunday. The blast is what opens the Succession Contest: the rules read out at the urn ceremony hold that the contest begins with it, and that a potential heir dying before it would call the whole thing off.
