Tajao, Cha-R vice boss and military advisor to the Seventh Prince's army, trades access for the Troupe's help against the Heil-Ly; Phinks asks him and Ken'i to locate Morena and promises the Brigade will hunt the Heil-Ly Killer together. On the twelfth day Tajao leads Phinks, Feitan and Nobunaga through a secret tunnel into the purification and recycling chamber between Tiers 4 and 5 — where Phinks works out that the Heil-Ly likely replaced the waste contractors in order to lure and kill freely. Nobunaga leaves to secure another way up.

Written in the style of Neon Nostrade's poems. Lovely Ghostwriter had already vanished from Skill Hunter when the Black Whale sailed: this sheet is a reconstruction, not a record.

The blast is what opens the Succession Contest: the rules read out at the urn ceremony hold that the contest begins with it, and that a potential heir dying before it would call the whole thing off.
