Benjamin's soldiers are placed in the princes' quarters authorised to kill in self-defence. Vincent kills the servant Sandra and opens fire; Bill blocks the rounds with reinforced Nen and, with Kurapika, brings him down. He poisons himself rather than be questioned — Bill tries in vain to make him bring it up — and Kurapika only gets the body released to the army after showing the earpiece he was wearing. Benjamin and Balsamilco treat the failure as data on Kurapika's and Bill's abilities.

  Gun and Dowsing Chain drawn in room 1014, Kurapika tells the bodyguards and servants what the voyage really is — a succession war — and questions each of them on what they already knew. Two admit they knew and that they are not Woble's men. Oito orders him to shoot them on the spot; he has them tied to chairs instead, and one explains that the five dead guards each served someone else: Oito being the lowest-ranked queen, the other seven placed their own guards around her as informants.
